Previous Season Recap (or Season 0, if you will)

Well, friends, it's time to get started with Retro Bowl! (When you begin a new career, Retro Bowl starts you off in week 18 of a season, then lets you go through the final game and playoffs if your team qualified). Season 0 culminated in an exciting Retro Bowl championship game, with Stripes West champion Sacramento Silverbacks (13-4) beating the Columbus Archers (12-5) by a score of 38-23. The Archers made a game of it in the 2nd half, but the 'Backs were too tough and are now league champions! Here are the final standings from Season 0: Stars Conference Stripes Conference And the playoff bracket: Both #1 seeds made it to their respective championship games, but were ultimately upset by stiff competition from the underdogs. By contrast, woeful Oklahoma City hopes a solid draft will improve their fortunes. Anchorage, Omaha, and San Antonio all have a long way to go as well. Will Season 1 feature a surprise changing of the guard at the top? Or...

Intro To Retro Bowl

Retro Bowl is a fun little football game available on mobile devices and Nintendo Switch. It's a big-pixel throwback to the old NES days, similar to Tecmo Bowl. I have created my own league based on the NFL's 32 teams format, with 2 conferences named "Stars" and "Stripes," and 4 regional divisions per conference (the same format used by Retro Bowl). The cities I've chosen are more or less the largest US cities without an NFL team (plus one in Canada). I've tried to base mascots on something related to the city or state, and almost arbitrarily chose colors/uniforms based on what I liked at the time, although I occasionally used the city flag colors for inspiration. I'm going to start by playing a season as a random team and provide game-by-game recaps with some background on the league.
